What a lot of untidy things there are under the bonnet of a Last Edition Beetle ! All this jumble of hoses and wires was subsequently hidden under the board lining that protects the luggage bay and conceals the spaghetti.
Getting the doors aligned properly was a long and laborious process, and they were fitted and removed for modification several times by Julie’s highly-skilled and very patient assembly team, brother David and dad John.
