In preparation for painting, bodywork man Robin lead-loaded various seams including the joins between the original metalwork and the new patch panels, and we're confident that the repairs will now outlast the rest of the vehicle. The floor was sent for powder coating, and Robin took care of spraying everything else in the traditional Diamond Silver Metallic finish. Here's Robin masking off the apertures that paint should not enter.
The bodywork received coats of etch-primer then a filler primer as the base for the new shiny paint. Some oil rigs have less protection against the elements.
