Number 300's story began with a raffle that was held on behalf of the Motor & Cycle Traders Benevolent Fund, and a book of five tickets sent to Bill Rogers in Somerset. To save time, Bill bought all five tickets and this proved to be "The best £1.00 investment I ever made!", as he won.
Graham Bradley subsequently bought the car from Bill in 1986 with 25 miles on the clock. An article about the car was printed in the VW Motoring magazine April 2004 edition.
